The Kidnapping (El sekuestro) is a political comedy written and directed by Eduardo Montes-Bradley. The story revolves around a German rebel man, Bruno (Tobias Meinike), who arrives in the fictitious South American republic Rio Hondo. He is determined to organize a revolution and establish justice by overthrowing the government. He advertises in the local newspaper and selects three volunteers ready to fight for his mission. The crew consists of Carmen (Sandra Ballesteros), a former massage specialist, Luis (Luis Fernandez), a restless boy from Rio Hondo thirsty for adventure and Mario (Adam Black), a former steel mill worker. The four rebels form a revolutionary army whose task it to seize power and establish the rule of the people. They make the wrong move when they kidnap Renato Cefalu (Lazaro Perez), who has no money to pay them, and his wife Teresa (Alex Pertile) is not anxious to save him. The film is a farce dealing with human struggle in Latin America and irrational political aspirations.moreless
