The Knack (subtitled ...and How to Get It) is a classic British comedy from 1965 about three men with completely different personalities who all live in the same London house. Colin is an awkward, well-meaning school teacher who definitely doesn't have "the knack" (for seducing women), whilst his somewhat sinister tenant Tolen has the knack to such a degree that gorgeous girls seem permanently to be exiting his bedroom and lining the staircase in wait for his erotic favours. The third man, Tom, an eccentric Irishman, seems not bothered one way or the other. Things begin to change when a country girl named Nancy arrives in town, fruitlessly searching for the YWCA. A huge popular hit worldwide, the movie was directed by Richard Lester and more than confirmed the promise of his previous hit, A Hard Day's Night.
