The Land Before Time III: The Time of the Great Giving

Movie Summary

The Land Before Time III: The Time of the Great Giving is the third in a trilogy of classic children's movies set in the Cretaceous Period. Littlefoot (voiced by Scott McAfee), Cera (voiced by Candace Hutson), Ducky (voiced by Heather Hogan), Petri (voiced by Jeff Bennett), and Spike (voiced by Rob Paulsen) all reprise their roles in the previous two films, while tackling some interesting moral and scientific issues such as intergroup conflict, cooperation between competing groups, and climate change. The animation is top-notch, drawn by a group of animators who worked on notable films such as The Lion King and Anastasia. As the local Cretaceous climate begins to deteriorate due to a meteorite strike nearby, the main characters in the film band together and begin searching for a less arid and more fertile climate to migrate to. However, the gang quickly encounters resistance from a rival group of dinosaurs, who attempt to bully them and hinder their progress during their quest. However, both groups soon realize that they can only solve their mutual problems by overcoming their negative first impressions and working together. Encounters with larger dinosaurs such as the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex ensue, and the new dinosaur friends must each use their unique skills to survive the adventure and reach their new home.moreless
