The Last Command is a thrilling movie that focuses on Serigius Alexander (Emil Jannings), who is an aristocratic Czarist general. Serigius was deposed during the Bolshevik Revolution and decides to leave Russia after the Revolution ends. He finds safety in America and starts to live in the States incognito. To find work, he moves to Hollywood and becomes an extra on a few films and television shows. He likes his work but especially likes that no one has recognized him as the Czarist that he was in Russia. Soon, his war-torn past does catch up to him when the director Lev Andreyev (William Powell) hires Serigius to be in a film about the Russian revolt. Serigius doesn't remember that while in Russia he sent Lev to jail. The movie is full of twists and turns about the Russian Revolution and about Serigius' life in America after he escapes his home.
