The Last Mimzy is a 2007 science fiction film about two children who develop remarkable powers after discovering an alien artifact. Emma Wilder (Rhiannon Leigh Wryn) and Noah Wilder (Chris O'Neil) are a brother and sister growing up in an unhappy home. The day before the entire family is supposed to go to Whidbey Island for a beach vacation, their father David (Timothy Hutton) is called into work and cannot go. Angry, their mother Jo (Joely Richardson) decides to take the children without him. When they arrive, they go down to the beach, where Emma finds a strange box. Inside, she finds a collection of toys, including a stuffed rabbit named Mimzy who is able to communicate with the children. Agreeing not to tell their mother about neither Mimzy nor the box, Emma and Noah begin to play with it. Shortly thereafter, they begin to develop supernatural powers and are charged with the task of learning what Mimzy actually is and what mission they will have to accomplish to return Mimzy safely home.moreless
