The Last Mogul: The Life and Times of Lew Wasserman is the biographical documentary of Lew Wasserman, a man who many may never have heard of despite being one of the most powerful and influential figures in the history of film. Told through interviews with close friends and business associates, The Last Mogul is an interesting look at this enigmatic and original executive. Beginning with his humble beginnings in Cleveland, Ohio, the film documents Wasserman's rapid ascension from being a small-time music agent to head of the largest studio on the planet and a powerful political player to boot. Written and directed by Barry Avrich, a veteran documentary filmmaker who has also documented the lives of Harvey Weinstein and Winston Churchill among others, The Last Mogul: The Life and Times of Lew Wasserman is an interesting insight into the inner workings of the film industry and how it has been shaped by titans of the industry like Mr. Wasserman.
