Last of the Finest is a movie that was filmed in 1990 by director John Mackenzie. The story revolves around a dedicated vice cop, Frank Daly (Brian Dennehy), and his small team who are struggling to dismantle a major drug ring. After the group is suspiciously removed from the case, the team suspects that several of their superiors are involved with the criminals. Undeterred, Daly and three members of his team secretly attempt to fight the drug ring while having to operate outside of the law. The film has the typical shootouts and explosions typical of police-action dramas. But, there is also a level of character development as viewers witness interactions between the policemen, their wives, and children. Their integrity also comes into question when the team happens upon $22 million in drug money. The movie stars actor Brian Denney, who is well-known for his role in Rambo: First Blood, and Joe Pantoliano who recently played on The Sopranos. The pair provides a solid performance that is sure to entertain.
