The Last Supper is a 1995 black comedy, written by Dan Rosen, that focuses on a number of well-intentioned graduate students who are intent on ridding society of its most offensive members. The movie begins when the group discusses the question of whether they would have murdered Adolf Hitler when he was simply a struggling cartoonist and long before his reign of terror. The five students, which include Jude (Cameron Diaz), Pete (Ron Eldard), Paulie (Annabeth Gish), Marc (Jonathan Penner) and Luke (Courtney B. Vance) are all roommates. The group are also left-leaning political activists who put their views and ideas to the test one night at dinner. When Pete gets stuck one night, he hitches a ride with a trucker named Zack (Bill Paxton), whom he later invites to dinner with the group as a sign of gratitude. At dinner, it soon becomes clear at that Zack has differing political views than the group and even says that he believes Hitler had the "right idea." That statement prompts a fight where Zack is accidentally killed in the melee. The housemates decide to bury him in the garden instead of calling the police and reason that the world is better without the hateful bigot. The group agrees they are on to something and before long they decide to invite a weekly guest with opposing views to dinner and mysteriously, they all begin to disappear.moreless
