The Lawyer is a movie based very loosely on a real-life case. It begins by introducing lawyer Tony Petrocelli (Barry Newman), who has decided to take on a very controversial case. Tony is given the opportunity to defend Dr. Jack Harrison (Robert Colbert) after he is accused of murdering his own wife. The case is extremely controversial due to the fact that Dr. Harrison is a prominent figure in his small community, but Tony takes it anyway. He is confident in his ability to get Dr. Harrison acquitted. The movie takes another turn when Tony has to go up against the absolutely ruthless district attorney to fight for Dr. Harrison's freedom. The district attorney uses tricks to stump Tony, and Tony has to work overtime to prove the doctor's innocence. This movie is full of court room drama and action and will keep your full attention and keep you on your toes.
