The Legend of 1900 is a 1998 film about an orphan who is a musical prodigy and lives aboard a cruise ship. One day Max Tooney (Pruitt Taylor Vince) walks into a music shop to sell his beaten up trumpet. When he asks the shopkeeper if he can play a final song before selling it, the shopkeeper agrees and instantly recognizes the tune he's playing. Max is astonished by this until the shopkeeper produces a record, which Max also instantly recognizes. It is then that Max begins telling the shopkeeper the story of 1900. An orphan was found one day by a man on a cruise ship and was named Danny Broodman T.D. Lemon 1900 (Tim Roth). From an early age, 1900 displayed prodigious musical talent and, in time, became the ship's chief entertainment. Terrified of the outside world, though, 1900 never left the ship. As time passed, the ship grew old and was eventually scheduled to be sunk. With his death imminent, 1900 faced the choice of going down with the ship or leaving it for the first time in his life.moreless
