The Life of Lucky Cucumber is a 2009 comedy mockumentary co-written by Preston Lacy and Sam Maccarone. It is directed by Sam Maccarone. Lucky Cucumber (Dian Bachar) is a local eccentric and minor celebrity. Luck is known for, among many things, setting a man on fire over a pizza, being incredibly lucky and holding 100 jobs while living in a cave. His life is brought into sharp focus when a two local documentary film makers, Phillip Fellini (Sam Maccarone) and Forrest Fonda (Preston Lacy) win a grant to produce a film examining Southern life. The pair choose to document Lucky's life. What follows is a look into the weird and often absurd life of an intellectually challenged man who lives with his grandfather (Patrick O'Hagan) and blunders headlong through life. Along the way, Lucky encounters a number of other local rural eccentrics and losers. From profane elderly to the philosophical meth addicts, The Life of Lucky Cucumber is an outrageous look at small town life.moreless
