The Limping Man is a 1953 American film directed by Cy Endfield and Charles De la Tour and starring Lloyd Bridges, Moira Lister, and Alan Wheatley. At the end of World War II, American Frank Pryor (Bridges) goes to London to continue his blossoming romance with Pauline French (Lister). While at the airport, however, Frank is standing next to a man who is shot and killed by a sniper. Detained for questioning, Frank explains to the authorities that he knows nothing of the man and cannot be held responsible. Upon his release he heads to Pauline's apartment, where he discovers that she knew the slain man. In spite of his persistent questioning, Pauline refuses to talk about her relationship with him. Scotland Yard, however, knows the intimate details of the relationship between Pauline and the slain man, and has Frank and Pauline under surveillance. Frank later discovers that the dead man isn't actually dead at all, and that Pauline is not the woman she has been claiming to be.moreless
