The Line, also known as La Linea, is a Mexican crime-action-thriller based on the infamous Francisco Arellano F''lix Cartel. The James Cotten directed film assembles an ensemble cast of well-known actors and weaves together many plot lines. World weary assassin Mark Shields (Ray Liotta) and his assistant Wire (Kevin Gage) are given the challenging task of killing the head of the Salazar Crime Cartel in Tijuana, Mexico. Meanwhile, the head of the cartel, Javier Salazar (Andy Garcia) is dying and hands over the operation to his nephew Pelon (Esai Morales) who wants to switch from smuggling Colombian cocaine to Afghani heroine. Meanwhile, Shields becomes involved with Olivia, a mother and meth addict working to overcome her demons. As the character's lives converge, things turn dangerous and deadly. Armand Assante and Danny Trejo also co-star in the ripped from the head lines movie. The film was released in 2008 by Project One Films.
