Laurel and Hardy are persuaded by a Sea Captain to recruit sailors on to his "haunted" ship for one dollar per man. All goes horribly wrong for Laurel and Hardy as they unconsciously are thrown on to the ship. Once aboard, the captain warns the sailors who ever mentions the word "ghost" will get his head twisted from north to south. Later on, one drunken sailor falls into a vat of whitewash and inadvertently terrorizes Laurel and Hardy.
