The Man from the Elysian Fields is a romantic drama about an aspiring author who is down on his luck. After one failed endeavor which led to a less-than-profitable novel, Byron Tiller (Andy Garcia) finds himself with very real and tangible conflicts in his life which need attending. He wishes to provide his wife with the life she always wanted but finds himself without the means to do so. This all changes when he meets Luther Fox (Mich Jagger). Luther has made a business out of running an escort service which matches affluent women with intelligent and attractive men. Luther promises something that Byron has gone quite some time without, a substantial paycheck. The film analyzes Bryon's attempt to forge a better life for himself and his loved ones through this new business, and examines how he strives to hide his new employment from his wife. Other characters include Dena (Julianna Marguiles), Andrea (Olivia Williams), and Nigel (Michael Des Barres).
