The Man From Planet X is an alien science fiction film directed by Edgar G. Ulmer and starring Robert Clarke and Margaret Field. The film takes place on a Scottish island where an observatory run by Professor Enid Elliot (Margaret Field) is located. Professor Elliot lives with his beautiful daughter along with Dr. Mears (William Schallert). However, from the first few moments of the film, it is clear that Dr. Mears is a shady character, and that his motives are suspect. Before the rest of the cast is able to figure out what Dr. Mears is up to, an alien visitor from so-called Planet X arrives just as a reporter named John Lawrence (Robert Clarke) makes his appearance. It is soon suspected that Dr. Mears was in contact with the alien before it arrived, and the suspicious doctor may have something to do with Earth's potential demise. As the clock ticks down, Professor Elliot and team work together to find out what exactly is happening.moreless
