The Man With Two Brains is a wacky 1983 comedy directed by Carl Reiner and starring Steve Martin as a talented brain surgeon who falls in love with a brain. After saving the life of beautiful gold-digger Dolores Benedict (Kathleen Turner), Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr (Steve Martin) marries her and whisks her off to a honeymoon in Austria, where he soon begins to suspect Dolores has married him for his money. In Vienna, Dr. Hfuhruhurr attends a medical conference where he meets a lunatic neuroscientist, Dr. Alfred Necessiter (David Warner), who claims he is able to store living human brains in glass receptacles. Upon visiting Necessiter and falling for one of the brains (voiced by Sissy Spacek), Dr. Hfuhruhurr goes in search of a woman to kill so that he can tranplant the brain of his new love into a fresh body. Co-written by Steve Martin, this off-beat comedy is a must-see for fans of the zany comedian.

The Man with Two Brains is a fitfully amusing return by Steve Martin to the broad brand of lunacy that made his first feature, "The Jerk" [1979], so successful.

I guess it's a tribute to The Man With Two Brains that I found myself laughing a fair amount of the time, despite my feelings about Martin.
