The Masque of the Red Death is a 1964 cult horror film directed by Roger Corman and adapted from a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. The film starts with an old woman in a forest talking to a mysterious figure completely dressed in red. When she abruptly dies of the "red death", a fast-spreading disease for which there is no cure, Prince Prospero, the cruel lord of the region, takes a young woman named Francesca, her lover Gino and her father Ludovico into his castle, where he plans an extravagant Masque in defiance of the spreading disease outside. But there is one uninvited guest, who is dressed entirely in red...
