The McKenzie Break is a psychological thriller telling the story of Camp McKenzie, Scotland, which was a German Prisoner of War Camp in closing days of World War II. A prisoner riot leads to the death of a German POW, and Irish Intelligence Captain Jack Connor (Brian Keith) is called in to investigate what exactly happened and who is responsible. Captain Conner finds an elaborate plot for escape that involves a military submarine, engineered by the senior prisoner, German Captain (Helmut Griem). This leads to an intense battle of wits, which these two characters play like a game of chess, where a monumental mistake in judgement is made and lives are put at risk on both sides of this suspenseful battle. Based on the novel "The Bowmanville Break" by Sidney Shelley, this film has major plot twists and turns which keep the viewer guessing to the very end of the movie.
