The Men's Club is a 1986 drama directed by Peter Medak that is based on a novel by Leonard Michaels. One night, six friends, psychotherapist Kramer (Richard Jordan), former baseball star Cavanaugh (Roy Scheider), prudish Harold (Frank Langella), self-absorbed Terry (Treat Williams), college professor Phillip (David Dukes), and soft-hearted Solly (Harvey Keitel), decide to gather for a discussion group at Kramer's home. At first, their intentions are admirable -- to have a therapy discussion in which they can discuss their innermost thoughts and feelings with their friends. Somewhere along the way, the men lose their original intentions for being there, and the discussion group degenerates into a hedonistic party of knife-throwing, gorging on food, and drinking alcohol. After Kramer's wife Nancy (Stockard Channing) returns to find the mess, she tells the men that they all have to go home. The six pals decide that they are not ready to finish their night just yet, so they head out on the town to get into more mischief.moreless
