The Meteor Man is a comedy super hero film written by, directed by, and starring Robert Townsend. A schoolteacher named Jefferson Reed (Robert Townsend) living in Washington DC is being harassed by a gang of toughs calling themselves the Golden Lords. While hiding from the gang, Jefferson is struck by a green meteorite which causes severe injuries. When awoken in the hospital, however, he is cured of all ailments. Jefferson leaves the hospital and discovers that the meteorite has given him extraordinary powers including super strength, x-ray vision, flight, telekinesis, and more. Jefferson Reed decides to use his powers for good and confronts the Golden Lords. The community is fed up with dealing with the gang and want to surrender, but Jefferson tells them they should fight and stand up for themselves. Jefferson's powers, however, are fading fast. Simon Caine (Roy Fegan) learns of this, as well as Jefferson's identity, and vows to take down the Meteor Man.
