The Miracle Maker: The Story of Jesus is a claymation retelling of the story of Jesus in which an all-star cast voices the familiar characters of the biblical narratives. Jesus (Ralph Fiennes) begins his earthly ministry with a confrontation with Satan in the desert and baptism at the hands of his cousin, John the Baptist (Richard E. Grant). He goes about a life of miracle-working and teaching, drawing hundreds of people to follow him. Ultimately the Messiah provokes the attention of King Herod (Anton Lesser). He and the Pharisees begin to close in on the rebel who is leading people away from the clear teachings of the Law. Ultimately Jesus must appear in front of Pontius Pilate (Ian Holm), who passes Jesus on for crucifixion. In the end, Jesus faces horrific death at the hands of the Roman Empire, but it is this story that leads to the miraculous Easter narrative that changed history.
