The Mirror Crack'd is a 1980 screen adaption from Agatha Christie's Jane Marple detective series starring Elizabeth Taylor and Kim Novak. A movie production company will be using Jane Marple's (Angela Lansbury) village of St. Mary Mead, England as their shooting location. Miss Marple looks forward to seeing the movie star rivals, Marina Rudd (Elizabeth Taylor) and Lola Brewster (Kim Novak), play English royalty in a historical drama. Marina and her husband, Jason (Rock Hudson), have been keeping a secret -- death threats against Marina. Then a member of village's welcoming committee, Heather Babcock (Maureen Bennett), drops dead at a reception from a poisoned cocktail intended for Marina. Inspector Craddock (Edward Fox) does not think all the pieces fit, so he asks his aunt, Jane Marple, for some investigative help. Meanwhile, the chaotic film production with feuding stars, an onset affair, and a narcissistic producer, Martin Fenn (Tony Cutis) demanding a part creates drama and intrigue throughout the sedate village. Guy Hamilton ("Goldfinger") directs this intriguing, and star-studded murder mystery.moreless
