The Muppets Take Manhattan is a musical film centered around Jim Henson's Muppets. Kermit the Frog (Jim Henson) creates a variety show during college entitled Manhattan Melodies. He and his friends try to get the performance accepted on Broadway so they can all be famous, but they have trouble finding a producer to sponsor their show. Most of the Muppets have to find jobs across the country to make ends meet, but Kermit stays in New York to pursue his dream. Combining forces with Rizzo the Rat (Steve Whitmire), Kermit finds himself involved in a series of adventures as he tries to get someone in the music business to look at his play. He pretends to be a producer, angers Liza Minelli by tampering with her photograph and loses his memory when he gets hit by a car. Miss Piggy (Frank Oz) notifies the other Muppets of Kermit's situation, and they return to New York to help him try and recover his memory. The Muppets Take Manhattan was directed by Frank Oz, the voice behind Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, and Animal.moreless
