This 1952 teleplay depicts the Nativity, in a musical setting featuring the Robert Shaw Chorale. Joseph and Mary are parents blessed with God’s child. Upon the birth of baby Jesus an angel appears telling the couple that the boy is destined to be a great king. Word of the prophecy reaches King Herod, who decides to try and kill the boy. At the same time, an angel appears to Joseph in a dream telling him to flee with his family to Egypt, where they will be safe.
