The Navigator is a 1924 silent film starring the King of Mutes: Buster Keaton. The film was written by Clyde Bruckman and co-directed by Donald Crisp. A disgustingly rich and lovelorn man named Rollo Treadway (Buster Keaton) trusts the vast sea will absolve any remaining memories of his girlfriend Betsy (Kathryn McGuire) who left him when he asked her for her hand in marriage. But as the oddities of life will have it, Treadway winds up on the wrong pier where he embarks on a boat far less sophisticated as the one he was intended to sail aboard. As he meanders the dilapidated ship, he runs into none other than his long lost lover - Betsy. When a villainous group of foreign operatives misguide the ship's crew into the middle of the ocean, each man must fend for himself as waves engulf everything. The Navigator is a great film for those who love silent film and slapstick comedy. Two thumbs up!moreless
