He's not doing well on the swim team because he's afraid of heights, his Dad doesn't have time to connect with him because he's always at work. Bastian can't take it anymore, and finds refuge in an antique bookstore, where he finds the neverending story book and returns to Fantasia. Once there, he teams up with Atreyu (Kenny Morrison) and a talking bird named Nimbly. Together, with the help of some old friends, they must save Fantasia from the grasp of Xayide, an evil sorceress. All along the way, Bastian's father is trying to find him. With the help of the bookstore owner, he watches his son's adventures unfold on the pages of the book. Directed By George T. Miller, reaction to the film was mixed.
