The New York Ripper is a 1982 thriller directed by famous Italian master of horror Lucio Fulci. Detective Fred Williams (Jack Headly) is a burnt-out New York City police detective who is investigating the brutal murder of a well-known prostitute at the Brooklyn Bridge. The only clue in the case is that people overheard her talking on the phone to a man with an unusual duck-like voice before she died. After the pathologist, Dr. Barry Jones (Giordano Falzoni), examines her corpse, he tells Fred that the murder is the work of a serial killer because he can link several deaths together based on the style of the murder. With the help of Dr. Paul Davis (Paolo Malco), a psychotherapy professor who profiles the killer, Fred must race to stop the psychopath from claiming his next victim. The New York Ripper is a deeply disturbing film that was banned in many places due to its explicit sex scenes and its graphic violence.moreless
