The Next Karate Kid is the fourth installment in the coming-of-age martial arts film series, and is now available on Crackle.com. Directed by Christopher Cain and released in 1994, Hillary Swank plays the new karate kid taken under Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) wing. Swank is Julie Pierce, a troubled youth deeply saddened by the tragic death of both her parents, and in need of discipline. When her grandmother leaves her late grandfather's old friend Miyagi in charge while she is away on vacation, Julie reveals her limited knowledge of karate. Miyagi decides to take her to a Buddhist monastery and train her, with hopes that the spirit of the martial art form will create a new found balance in Julie's life. As a result, Julie is able to overcome the military style fraternity after her named Alpha Elite, and find love in Eric McGowen (Chris Conrad) - one of their reformed pledges .
