The Night Caller is a psychological thriller about a troubled woman that becomes obsessed with a talk radio host. Stuck in a dead end existence, working the graveyard shift at a convenience store and caring for her elderly mother, the only bright spot in Beth Needham's (Tracy Nelson) life is listening to Dr. Lindsay Roland's (Shanna Reed) radio show. One night, seeking relief, she reluctantly calls in, and in speaking with the psychologist, begins to feel better about her sad state of affairs. But the troubled girl takes her fondness for Dr. Roland too far, and promptly kills her mother, quits her job and gains employment at the the radio host's answering service, where she is close enough to stalk the popular doctor. But as Beth's sanity begins to unravel, her new "friend" finds herself in danger, realizing that the deranged girl will stop at nothing to be close to her. Robert Malenfant directs this chilling look into the psychology of need and despair.moreless
