The Nightmare Before Christmas is an acclaimed and beloved stop motion animation musical holiday favorite (for both Halloween and Christmas) produced by the king of the delightfully ghoulish, Tim Burton (Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Batman Returns, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, Sleepy Hollow and Pee Wee's Big Adventure). Voiced by veteran character actor Chris Sarandon (Fright Night, The Princess Bride, Child's Play, Dog Day Afternoon, Bordello of Blood), Jack Skellington is the mayor of Halloween town who, while his fellow denizens' enthusiasm for the annual festivities peaks, inwardly yearns to experience something different Ð a holiday festivities change of pace. To this end, catching a glimpse of the magical world of Christmas, Skellington decides to politely hijack the holiday and take on Santa Claus's duties himself, taking the rotund Kringle hostage and delivering his own special brand of bestial baubles to a perturbed kid population. Featuring songs composed (and even sung) by renowned maestro Danny Elfman, this modern classic is a delight for all ages.
