The Norsemen is a period piece about the Norse Vikings. It is the story of Thorvald (Lee Majors), who lives in his peaceful village, awaiting the return of his father, King Eurich (Mel Ferrer). His patience drains quickly, and the Viking warrior sets sail for Greenland, where his father was last seen, to attempt to locate him. He brings along his best friend, Ragnar (Cornel Wilde) and a comical shaman called "The Death Dreamer" (Jack Elam). They journey across perilous waters in a small Viking boat with just a small handful of warriors at their backs. When they arrive in Greenland, King Eurich is nowhere to be found. Throvald and Ragnar search tirelessly until they find Eurich's encampment. It is abandoned with traces of a struggle throughout. With the shaman's help, Throvald is able to identify the assailants -- a tribe of Native Americans. He gets back aboard the boat and sets sail for a far-off land that the shaman saw in his visions, intent on rescuing his father by any means necessary.moreless
