The Nostradamus Kid is about a young man named Ken Elkin (Noah Taylor), who is attending a Seventh Day Adventist summer camp. Ken thinks that everyone at the camp is wrong in their religious notions, and begins asking sacrilegious questions. This gets him into a little trouble, but the brunt of it comes when he starts eyeing the preacher's daughter, only wanting to get her in bed. Years later, when Ken thinks that the world is going to end due to the Cuban Missile Crisis, he flees with his reluctant girlfriend Jennie (Miranda Otto). Her father is not pleased with this decision, especially since they steal his car. This ultimately tears the young couple's relationship apart. Ken later becomes a successful film director and runs into some of his previous friends from several years back at summer camp. Bob Ellis directs this class coming-of-age comedy about an interesting young man.
