The Number 23 is a 2007 American psychological thriller film by director Joel Schumacher, starring Jim Carrey, Virginia Madsen, Danny Huston, and Logan Lerman. Walter Sparrow (Jim Carrey) is an animal control officer married to cake shop owner Agatha (Virginia Madsen). When Walter receives a book, tiltled The Number 23, from Agatha for his birthday, he starts to find startling similarities between himself and the main character, Fingerling. When the similarities become more and more, and the novel is less than pleasant, Walter starts to develop a growing paranoia. It doesn't help that the book is self-published and self-printed by an author who has never released any other books. What does all of it mean? And will Walter find out before it is too late? The Number 23 is gripping from the very beginning to the very end, and will leave audiences with their hair standing on edge.
