The Old Barn Dance is a musical comedy directed by Joseph Kane. Gene Autry (himself) is in danger of losing his horse auctioning company when a rival business begins marketing tractors to farmers. Gene and his band, including Frog Millhouse (Smiley Burnette), take a job at a radio station as a way of supplementing their income. When they find out that the tractor company is sponsoring their show, they decide they will not continue to participate in the production and move on to another town. Meanwhile, the farmers are having trouble paying for their new tractors and a misunderstanding leads them to blame Gene for their financial trouble. Gene returns to town to profess his innocence and soon learns that the tractor company, Thornton Farming Equipment, is not as legitimate as they appear. The Old Barn Dance features 13 songs including Ten Little Miles, Rocky Mountain Rose, Roamin' Around the Range and She'll Be Comin' Around the Mountain.
