The Old Man And The Sea is a TV movie based on the 1952 Ernest Hemingway novel and the 1958 box office film with the same title. This film tells the story of an old Cuban fisherman, Santiago (Anthony Quinn), who has gone almost 3 months without a catch. He remembers his youthful days when he was one of the greatest fishermen in the town and becomes frustrated with himself. His daughter, Angela (Valentina Quinn), and the other people around him tell him that he has run out of luck and he should quit fishing and retire in Havana, Cuba. Determined to prove them wrong, Santiago goes out to sea in skiff and by noon makes the biggest catch of his life. The fish is very hard to reel in, but Santiago would never let it get away from him and so he hangs on to it. As he wrestles with the fish, a shark attempts to eat the fish off the line. Santiago fights against the shark for days, determined to show that he is still a good fisherman. But is Santiago strong enough to win the battle?moreless
