The Other Side of the Mountain 2 is a 1978 film that picks up where the first movie "The Other Side of the Mountain" leaves off. Both films are based on the true-life story of Jill Kinmont (Marilyn Hassett), a former National Champion in the slalom. She was left paralyzed from the neck down after a tragic accident on the slopes in 1955, when she was only 18 years old. In this film, Jill and her mother, June Kinmont (Nan Martin), move back to their hometown of Bishop California after the death of Jill's father, Bill Kinmont (William Bryant). Back home she meets a local truck driver, John Boothe (Timothy Bottoms), and although Jill is instantly attracted to John she denies it to everyone around her. John is successfully able to persuade her to admit her feeling and the two fall madly in love. Both Jill and John must face demons from their past, including fears, resentments and hurts, if they hope to stay together.moreless
