The Passion and The Power of Christ is a double feature video showing two movies depicting the religious story of Jesus Christ's final days. It is a story well known, yet always relevant. These two films offer very different visual representations, telling of the end of the life of Jesus Christ. In The Power of the Resurrection, a 1962 film directed by Harold D. Shuster, Peter (Richard Kiley) the apostle is approached by a young man who comes to him, fearing he may be killed for proclaiming his faith in Christ's teachings. Peter explains his similar dilemma to the young man, and then watches as Christ's tragic last moments through his own eyes. The Life and Passion of Jesus is a silent film, directed by Ferdinand Zecca and Lucien Nonguet, telling much the same story, yet without spoken dialogue. The film employed a dazzling array of groundbreaking effects for the time, including hand drawn film frames that invite viewers into a beautiful and breathtaking visual experience. Both films tell the story of Christ's last days in their own way, and both are included in The Passion and The Power of Christ.moreless
