The Peacekeeper is a 1997 action film directed by Frederic Forestier. Major Frank Cross (Dolph Lundgren), a pilot in the United States Air Force, is once again in trouble with his superiors, this time for making a daring and unauthorized humanitarian relief flight to drop food for starving Kurds. While the press praises him for his efforts, the United States government would prefer to have him court martialed. President Robert Baker (Roy Scheider) decides that having the media hero by his side might enhance his public image and help with the upcoming election, so he requests Cross for an important task. Now Cross must guard the president's briefcase, which contains the equipment needed to launch America's nuclear weapons. Cross initially assumes this will be an easy task, but he soon discovers that it isn't going to work out that way and must fight to keep the briefcase out of the hands of terrorists intent on destruction. The film also features Montel Williams as Lieutenant Colonel Northrop.
