The Peacemaker is a traditional western classic with a very non-traditional hero. Terrall Butler (James Mitchell) is an ex-inmate who used his time in prison to find himself and God. He becomes a preacher and sets out to a small western town to spread the Gospel once he is released from prison. He may have a past, but to the people of the town, he is just a preacher who does good deeds. Right in the center of town, he finds that his ability to settle conflict are still needed, but in a different capacity. He watches as the cattleman battle the armed and dangerous farmers over land while the money-hungry railroad man Gray Arnett (Herbert Patterson) does all he can to heighten the already deadly conflict to get what he wants. To settle the feud without bloodshed, Butler must now step in to plead the rivals to a truce using his Bible and the scriptures in it as his weapons.moreless
