The Point of No Return is the 1993 remake of the French film Nikita. Maggie (Bridget Fonda) is an unstable drug addict sentenced to death for killing a police officer in a botched store robbery. Recognizing her skills, the FBI fakes her death and enrolls her in intensive assassin training. In addition to weapons and computer training, she is also unwillingly taught etiquette and other necessary social skills. At the end of her training, she is taken out on a celebratory dinner date that turns out to be her first mission. After successfully eliminating her target and escaping the restaurant, she moves on to Venice and makes it her home. In between missions, she forms a romantic relationship with the manager of the apartment she rents. This relationship and the longing for a normal life it causes puts her in direct conflict with the agency who both killed and saved her.
