The Prince and the Surfer is a tale of two boys who switch places hoping to find a better life. The film is loosely based on the Mark Twain novel "The Prince and the Pauper" and is set in sunny Southern California. Cash Canty (Sean Kellman) is a young boy who loves to surf and ride his skateboard. He daydreams about becoming rich and famous one day, so he can live in the lap of luxury. Prince Edward (Sean Kellman) of Gelfland is another young boy who wishes he could remove the spotlight from himself and live a normal life like everyone else. When Prince Edward visits Southern California with his mother Queen Albertina (Jennifer O'Neil), the two boys collide. They quickly realize that they look exactly alike and they device a plan to switch places, so they each can live the life they have always dreamed of. There new lives are good at first, but Cash learns of the disastrous plan of Minister Kratski (Robert Englund) to take over Gelfland and turn it into Golfland. Meanwhile, Prince Edward is learning the life outside the castle is not as wonderful as he thought. The two boys must join forces if they want to save Gelfland.moreless
