The Rosary Murders is a 1984 mystery directed by Fred Watson and based on the book of the same name by William X. Keinzle. Roman Catholic priests and nuns are being stalked and brutally murdered by a serial killer in Detroit. The mysterious killer leaves the token of a black rosary behind with every dead body. Father Bob Koesler (Donald Sutherland) wants nothing more than to track down the murderer and take him off the streets. He is shocked when in confessional one day, the killer confesses the murders to him. Father Bob is unable to break the seal of confession and is torn between the savage murders of the clergy and breaking his vow to the church. His friend, Father Ted Neighbors (Charles Durning), is just as concerned about the victims as Father Bob and the police can't seem to catch the killer. As Father Bob grapples with the consequences of his own actions, he fears the killer may strike again.moreless
