The Sandman is a 1996 horror film written and directed by J.R. Bookwalter. Garry (A.J. Richards) is a romance novelist whose career has taken a sour turn. He finds himself living in a rural trailer park and suffering from a persistent case of insomnia. One night, Gary interrupts a monster attacking his sleeping girlfriend. The monster disappears and Gary is left thinking he might be hallucinating. Soon, trailer park residents start to die in their sleep. What at first is explained as a statistical blip looks to Gary like the work of a monster. However, no one in the community believes the bleary eyed writer, half-crazed from exhaustion. No one except buddy (Terry J. Lipko), a crazy Vietnam veteran and Gary's best friend. The two men begin to investigate, and stalk the monster, when they learn it is real. Can the two men stop the Sandman (Stan Fitzgerald) before more people die?
