The Savage Horde recounts the tale of a man, John "Ringo" Baker (Bill Elliott), on the run after gunning down an Army Captain to avoid being killed himself. Ringo finds himself in a bind when his brother Mike Baker, a lieutenant in the Army, is charged with capturing him. The outlaw narrowly escapes capture while on his way to Utah, when in an encounter with a U.S. Cavalry patrol, he accidentally shoots his brother. John Baker soon arrives in a small, rural ranching town by the name of Gunlock, where he is welcomed warmly. After becoming friends and forming a partnership with Glenn Larrabee, the owner of a small ranch, John is given the job of disposing of a local greedy villain called Wade Proctor. While the Army and his brother are closing in on him, the alleged outlaw finds himself now being hunted by the local villain's quick-draw hired gun, Dancer, as well.
