The Scarf is a dramatic thriller from 1951 that will keep you guessing. John Barrington (John Ireland), suffering from amnesia, escapes from an insane asylum where he had been incarcerated for killing his lover with a scarf. John finds a home with Ezra Thompson (James Barton) on Ezra's turkey-raising ranch. John still cannot believe that he killed the woman he dearly loved, nor can he understand how he can truly be insane though his memories are slowly beginning to return. John is determined to find out the truth of what happened no matter the cost. He travels to Los Angeles to seek out his old friend David Dunbar (Emlyn Williams), who is a psychiatrist and was a witness to the crime. David tells John what he witnessed and convinces John to believe his story. John is betrayed when David goes to the police, and John's friends aren't convinced that John is guilty.
