The Score is a 2001 crime thriller starring Academy Award winners Robert De Niro and Marlon Brando. Directed by Frank Oz and co-starring Edward Norton and Angela Bassett, The Score centers on a veteran thief named Nick Wells (Robert De Niro), who has decided to leave the crime business for good and focus on running his Montreal jazz club. Nick's girlfriend Diane (Angela Bassett) promises to fully commit to their relationship once Nick goes straight and leaves behind his life of crime. Nick's fence, Max (Marlon Brando), tempts Nick with an offer that he cannot refuse. The job, worth a $4 million payoff to Nick, is to steal a priceless French scepter, which is being detained at the Montreal Customs House. Max introduces Nick to Jack Teller (Edward Norton), an ambitious young up-and-coming thief who has infiltrated the Custom's House by pretending to be a developmentally disabled janitor named Brian. In this world of thieves no one can be trusted. Who will trick whom out of their share and who will take home the score? Angela Bassett won a NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her portrayal of Nick Wells' girlfriend, Diane.moreless
