Occurring five thousand years before The Mummy, the story centres on Mathayus in his quest to kill King Pheron, who enables the evil Emperor Memnon to rule the land. Fortunately Mathayus escapes and eventually is able to rescue the sorceress Cassandra. Using Cassandra as bait to trap Memnon, Mathayus and his enemy battle to see who will become king.
