2006

PG-13
The Second Chance is a religious drama. Ethan Jenkins (Michael W. Smith) is very comfortable with his job as the associate pastor at his father's megachurch, The Rock. Then his father sends him on an assignment to the church he founded when Ethan was a kid, the Second Chance Community Church. It's an inner city church and instantly overwhelming to Ethan. At Second Chance Community Church, Jake Sanders (Jeff Carr) is the pastor and his day-to-day life consists of dealing with poverty, drugs, crime, and the fight to keep his church from being taken over by gangs. He has no respect for Ethan, seeing Ethan as someone who will leave when the going gets tough. The Second Chance takes a look at the issue of racial and class seperation within the Christian church as the two men struggle to work together. If the church is going to survive, both men will have to look past their prejudices about the other one and find a way to work together.moreless
