Movie Summary

The Secret of NIMH is an animated film made in 1982 adapted from the book Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. The book that the film was based on was written by Robert C. O'Brien which was the pen name of Robert Leslie Conly, who also wrote Z for Zachariah. The Secret of NIMH begins with the Brisby family of which Mrs. Brisby is trying to help her ill son. The procurement of the medicine puts Mrs. Brisby on an adventure where she discovers secrets about her late husband and also the great secret of NIMH. The film was directed by Don Bluth, who also directed Anastasia and Titan A.E. The main voices were supplied by Elizabeth Hartman and John Carradine. The film was followed by The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue.moreless
